Common questions.
The things prospects ask in the first email, answered up front.
01What does GP Web Labs actually do?+
We build bespoke web applications, run managed hosting, and ship our own SaaS products. The lab side (our own software) feeds the client side, so we only sell techniques we use ourselves.
02How is pricing structured?+
Custom builds are fixed-fee per phase with a clear scope. Managed hosting is a flat monthly retainer. Our SaaS products (MaintIQ, Route My Reviews) are month-to-month with no setup fees.
03What is a typical project timeline?+
Most custom builds ship a usable v1 in 4–8 weeks. We work in two-week phases, you see something real at the end of every phase, and you can stop after any phase.
04Do you only work with companies in South Dakota?+
No. We are based in Madison, SD, and Sacramento, CA, and we love working with Great Plains companies, but we have clients across the Midwest, West Coast, and beyond. Remote-first.
05Who owns the code you write?+
You do. Custom builds are delivered with a full repository transfer and a written assignment of IP. We keep no lock-in code.
06What is GEO and why does it matter?+
Generative Engine Optimization is the practice of getting your site cited inside AI answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). It overlaps with SEO but rewards clean HTML, structured data, and answer-shaped content. Try our free AI SEO Checker for a quick audit.
07Do you offer ongoing support and maintenance?+
Yes. Every project ships with a managed-hosting and maintenance retainer option that covers uptime, backups, security patches, and small content/feature updates.
08What is your tech stack?+
TypeScript end-to-end. React on the front-end, edge-rendered when it makes sense, Postgres for data, S3-compatible object storage. We avoid trendy frameworks that will be dead in two years.
09Can you take over a project another agency started?+
Usually yes. We do a paid two-week diagnostic to assess the codebase, document what is salvageable, and quote the rebuild or refactor.
